Release Notification Product Update HERE Platform for Business 07/2016 (D70)

Dear Customer,

please be advised that a new release (D70) of the HERE Platform for Business is now available on the Production environment (PRD).

This email includes release notes that describe the improvements to the services in the new release. This release includes updates of: Geocoder API, Geocoder Autocomplete API, Public Transit API, HLP Routing API, Traffic Data API, Places API, Custom Location Extension, Waypoint Sequence Extension, HERE Android SDK and HERE iOS SDK.

You will find all API documentation on the Developer Portal.

The release is mainly a maintenance release; highlights are:

HERE Mobile SDK now supports client side rendering of customized maps
Improved performances of big matrices calculation in Matrix Routing
Places API Autosuggest is promoted from Beta to commercial availability

Geocoder API

India: Further improved logic that returns an up-hierarchy postal code match instead of an empty result.
Mexico: Increased match quality in Cancún area.
Mexico: Increased match quality and confidence by recognizing s/n in query as Sin Número (without number) instead of as noise or as part of a street name.

HLP Routing API

Improved performances of big matrices calculation in Matrix Routing.
Improved truck routing heuristics.
Released bike routing in all the supported languages.
Improved bike routing maneuvers.

Traffic Data API

Version 6.0.55.1

Internal performance optimizations have been introduced.
Map data is now updated weekly.

Places API

Version 2.41.0

Autosuggest is promoted from Beta to commercial availability

Enhanced Geo-Political View support for HERE POIs, third party POIs and addresses

Custom Location Extension API

Version 2.0.2

New request parameter &level=5 to optionally specify the tiling size, for performance optimization.
For Shapefile layer uploads, also EsriPolygonList is now supported.
New resources all.json and all.txt to download a complete layer.
New resource modify.json to modify geometries in existing layers (incremental changes).

HERE Android SDK

The version 3.2 now includes the latest OpenSSL version so that customer publishing new apps or updates after July 11, 2016 on the Google Play Store using the HERE Android SDK 3.2 will not be effected from the blocking of new apps or updates that include older OpenSSL versions.

Customers planning to launch new or to update existing applications distributed via the Google Play Store have to upgrade their applications to version 3.2. Otherwise they will receive a warning and will not be able to upload their application

New Features:

Extended the geopolitical view functionality to Search and Geocoding services. The HERE SDK now automatically returns the expected search results based on the inferred device locale.

Premium Edition version 3.2:

New Features:

Developers may now create custom map schemes at runtime by modifying properties such as the color of map objects.
Places search now includes a new autosuggest request which takes as input the characters typed by a user and returns Place results and recommendations for other search requests.
Where a device does not have a GPS source (such as a tablet), it is now possible for Android developers to feed in position data from an external source.
Extended the geopolitical view functionality to Places and Geocoding services. The HERE SDK now automatically returns the expected search results based on the inferred device locale.
The new version 2.0 of the Custom Location Extension is now supported with proximity search on custom POI´s.
Added new indoor routing options to prefer or avoid stairs, elevators, and ramps
Public Transit routing is deprecated and replaced by Urban Mobility routing. Urban Mobility routing supports a superset of the features supported by PT routing in previous SDK releases.
- New APIs are provided to allow developers query the Public Transit coverage available at a location.
- The Urban Mobility departures board feature has been enhanced to display later/earlier departures. Also, multi-departure board is supported to address cases where in one location there may be multiple stations such as train, tram, and bus.

HERE iOS SDK

Starter Edition version 3.2:

New Features:

Extended the geopolitical view functionality to Search and Geocoding services. The HERE SDK now automatically returns the expected search results based on the inferred device locale.

Premium Edition version 3.2:

New Features:

Same as for Android Premium Edition 3.2 above
Provide capability for developers to subscribe to notifications during guidance for upcoming traffic cameras.
Developers may now create and send multiple route calculation requests in parallel.
