please be advised that a new release (D91) of the HERE Location Suite is now available on the Production environment (PRD).

 

This email includes release notes that describe the improvements to the services in the new release. This release includes updates of: Geocoder API, Geocoder Autocomplete API, Routing API, Places API, Positioning API, Custom Location Extension, Custom Route Extension, Geofencing Extension, Platform Data Extension, Route Match Extension, Toll Cost Extension, Waypoint Sequence Extension, Mobile SDKs for Android and iOS and Mobile SDK User Interface (UI) kit.

 

As well, we will publish the release documentation on the Developer Portal.

 

Management Summary

The release is mainly a maintenance release; highlights are:

  • Geocoder API extended common street abbreviations support in queries for another 4 countries
  • Enhanced support of Ireland postal codes in Geocoder Autocomplete API and Places API
  • New HERE Mobile SDK release
  • HERE Mobile SDK User Interface (UI) kit update
  • New HERE Platform Self-hosted Q1/2018 release

Geocoder API

Version 6.2.155

 

  • Improvements to support common street abbreviations in queries in the Baltic countries Estonia and Lithuania, as well as in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Geocoder Autocomplete API

Version 6.2.155

 

  • Changes have been made for Ireland to return postal codes in suggestions for addresses.

Routing API

Version 7.2.91

 

  • We introduced the Avoid Turns feature which enables computation of routes avoiding complex U-turns.
  • We introduced Route ID feature in CalculateMatrix which enables reconstruction of routes summarized in matrix entries.
  • We added support for a vehicle type in Traffic Restrictions to avoid car routes being affected by truck specific traffic events.
  • We fixed an issue of pedestrian maneuvers being provided in the truck routing mode.

Places API

Version 2.60.0

 

Map Data updates (January 2018), including:

  • HERE Core map data (administrative units, cities, roads, point addresses and extended postal codes)
  • New feature: Enhanced support for Republic of Ireland postal codes

Positioning API

Version 1.5.0

 

  • We added a new optional client element in the locate request body. The information about the client hardware and software can be used to further improve the positioning service quality

HERE Android SDK

Starter Edition version 3.7:

  • We added support for the arm64-v8a architecture.

 

Premium Edition version 3.7:

  • Street Level Imagery is now marked as a deprecated feature and is no longer available for evaluation. Customers using Street Level Imagery in deployed applications may continue to use the feature. Please contact your HERE representative for more details.
  • We added support for the arm64-v8a architecture.
  • Added Map Data Prefetching as a beta feature. This feature allows users to download map data by specifying a route or a bounding box, rather than by a region using the map loader, or by panning the map.
  • Added the ability to customize route outline colors.
  • Extended options to configure voice guidance prompts.
  • We have changed the map display so that the HERE logo is not displayed when the logo size takes up more than 1/8 of the screen width or screen height.
  • We deprecated extended Venue Zoom Level support as higher zoom levels are now supported in the map view when a venue is selected.

HERE iOS SDK

Starter Edition version 3.7:

  • Added support for restricting the results returned by Autosuggest. By default, Autosuggest will return address, place, category, chain and query results. Using the result_type parameter, the client can request that only a subset of these are returned.

 

Premium Edition version 3.7:

  • Street Level Imagery is now marked as a deprecated feature and is no longer available for evaluation. Customers using Street Level Imagery in deployed applications may continue to use the feature. Please contact your HERE representative for more details.

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS:

General Rules Related to HERE Materials and Applications
• Inline with HERE Platform core terms, please ensure that the users of your application build on HERE Mobile SDKs Premium Edition constantly download the latest map version within a couple of weeks after the new map release has been available.

New incidents endpoint for Traffic API
• In May 2017, new /traffic/6.2/incidents endpoint launched to support more incidents data
• The old endpoint /traffic/6.1/incidents is still available and will be supported at least for 6 months

Public Transit API refactoring
• In April 2017, Public Transit API version 3.0.0 released, following refactoring of all endpoints to a new format. The API endpoint format have been changed from https://transit.api.here.com/metarouter/rest/routeservice/v2/(resource) to https://transit.api.here.com/v3/(resource)
• For now, the coming releases will continue to support all deprecated endpoints (with old parameter names)
